I had no idea that pink lemons existed until I went to my local natural foods store - Debra’s - and saw a basket of organic pink lemons. Why I never stopped to ask myself if pink lemonade really came from pink lemons I’ll never know. I always assumed pink lemonade was a creation of the beverage industry and a fanciful fiction. Pink Lemons, first ‘discovered’ on a lemon tree in 1930, are a low-yield crop with limited growers and distribution; ‘real’ pink lemonade thus remains mostly fictional.
