Dog Faced Hermans: “Jan 9” (from Hum of Life, which I can scarcely believe could be allowed to go out of print, but apparently it is)
Because if ever there’s a day to hear this song, it’s today. The band described it as “Pure polemic - in the area of the imagination, a report from a future conference of the sciences and the invisible world, guided by the spirit of Buckminster Fuller.”
There’s a lot to say about Dog Faced Hermans, but right now I’ll just say that they were the best live band of the ’90s as far as I’m concerned. Amazing lyrics, too.
