I was indulged - with my basic plan for Frankie, a one year plan that would lead to a film written by Martin Amis and directed by Nic Roeg that told the story of a pop group that lasted for one year before they contributed to the end of the world, an end that happened whilst they were actually flying to Hollywood to discuss the making of the movie. They landed in a post-apocalyptic world, where there was no need for Frankie, or indeed pop music. Then the adventures really began. I did have meetings with Martin and Nic about this movie, these meetings alone would have made a movie. No movie was ever made.
