Final Crisis kind of spoiled me for big event comics, I suspect. Honestly, BN left me cold for a long time, but I spent a lot of last weekend looking over the tie-ins and admiring how neatly the timeline of the Johnsverse material fits together, and I appreciate its ambition. I find a lot of the BN tie-ins pretty one-note at best (“Love. Rage. Fear”: yeah fine get on with it), and I wish BN had been a springboard for weirder and more distinctive stories. I’m curious to see if the conclusion leads anywhere in particular, though.
