Trying to turn comics into literature and subjecting them to faux academic examination is masturbatory nonsense. You can publish whatever you want and sing it’s praises to the high heavens and it will still just be plain old comic books. People will still see them as crap for people who never grew up. They will not be important. They will not be passed on as classics to future generations. They will seem dated and will never ever be viewed as central cultural material. The people who promote comics as literature (even adult comics or avant garde comics) will look end up looking like pretentious delusonal blowhards preaching to a rather tiny choir.
