The Jags’ debut EP came out July 2, 1979. Here’s a live TV performance (from around then) of “Back of My Hand,” which sounds more like Elvis Costello than any other song that’s not actually by Elvis Costello. It’s like somebody took the first 30 seconds of “No Action” and turned it into a power-pop song.
